Looking for information on Rudolf Alexander Brouwer, arrived in PN late
1970s/early 80s to sell insurance initially.

Older locals may remember a case in the early-mid 80s where a retired
bailiff, Tom Sullivan, was attacked with a sword. The accused had his
name suppressed and received a small fine. This was Brouwer.

He left PN and went to Taupo, and changed his name to Rodney Thomas
West. joined the Labour Party and became Taupo branch secretary of the
party. In 1992 he was sacked by the party after it was revealed in the
Dominion that he had been using the Party's PO Box as the mailing
address for Argus Computer Introduction Services, a mail order bride
service importing women from the Philippines.

Latterly believed to operate massage parlours in Taupo and New Plymouth.

Any and all background wanted, on the record or off, especially if it
concerns a rape in Palmerston North before Brouwer left and changed his
name, an attack on a prostitute in New Plymouth, or the importation of
sex workers.

The address in the headers is unmunged.
